How do you build a culture and team that can accomplish anything? Our CEO Evelyn Jackson catches up with Daniel Hakim, CEO & Founder of Club of United Business (CUB), and shares her expert insights.

From her world leading expertise in corporate HR to now being a successful entrepreneur, Evelyn distills what she's learned about unifying your people to build a culture and team that can accomplish anything and the importance to market not just to your customers but also your staff.

Key Lessons

1. Know Your Audience

Whether you're a leader or not, knowing who your audience is and how you should communicate to them is essential. For example, if you understand the preferences of your team members as the leader, not only can you get the best feedback from your team, but you can articulate your vision in a way that directly resonates with them.

2. Understanding People

When working with people, especially if you're a leader, you need to understand people. This means digging into what makes them unique, such as their weaknesses, ambitions, and their favourite things in life. Doing this brings you closer together and makes it easier for both of you to work effectively and accomplish anything.

3. Turning Points Can Change Your Life

Evelyn climbed the corporate ladder. She did so well that she was promoted to having international oversight of her department. But she turned it down. This was a turning point, and she knew it was time to move on. This led her to unexpectedly starting her own company and now she is the happiest she's ever been.

4. Unifying Generations

A challenge in Evelyn's career was figuring out how to get millennials to value meetings as much as Gen X. Here, she saw that millennials valued fun, so she gamified attendance. For Gen Z, she unifies them using the same method, which comes down to finding what each generation values, then harmonising them to a common goal.

5. Build a Process for Your Team

The most effective way to align any team is to have a shared procedure outlining how the company best provides its service. For Evelyn, she employs a simple five-step process that everyone can follow. The purpose is to be broad enough for creativity but rigid enough to keep the company grounded.
